An old friend that I miss. I enjoyed working with Alan at the Detention Center. Many times I would share my memories of when I vacationed in Israel. May God rest your soul in Heaven. Until I see you again, enjoy the promises of God and enjoy His land He has promised you.

What a shock to hear of Allan's passing. I was always happy to see him on shift when I worked at the jail. He was easy going, put others first, and treated everyone, including the inmates, with dignity and respect. We enjoyed getting to know him away from work when our boys played football together. Oh how he loved his boys and was so proud of each one of them. Rest in peace, Allan.

My heart goes out to Alan's sons and family and friends. Especially Daniel whom I have had the great pleasure of coaching and being a part of his life. Through the years I have had many opportunitys to speak with Alan on many different levels and about many different topics and I want you all to know that he was always a very honest and honorable man. He always was polite and very rarely spoke a cross word about anyone even though we both knew that some of the topics at hand could have prompted that type of conversation. His rational thinking always impressed me because I knew that the impetus for his thoughts were coming from his heart because the thoughts were always fatherly. He always looked out for the best interests of Daniel. He was so proud of him and so amazed by his accomplishments as we all are. I loved watching him when Daniel was pitching. His intensity was not matched by another parent or fan. Time after time when Daniel was on the mound and the third strike came in I could here him say "SIT DOWN". I knew that these words were not to offend the batter but merely reflected the thousands of hours that Alan spent with Daniel playing catch and working on curve balls and rides to practices and tournaments. He was a great man from whom we could all learn from and I am a better man from knowing him. God Bless you my friend and always know that we will continue your care and love for your very gifted son.

Daniel, I was so sad to hear of your father's passing. Although I only met you and your father at the All Star games in Butte America last summer - we were able to spend an afternoon together having lunch at my house and taking in the history of Butte. I could tell in this short time how much love your father had for you and the great pride he felt in having a son like you. Live your life the way your father always dreamed for you and you will find peace and happiness along the way. My love and prayers go out to you - and your family. God bless you and may the comfort of your family and friends help you in your healing. Please do not ever fear asking for help along the way.

My prayers and thoughts are with the family. I wish to express my condolences. Silverstein was so very proud of his boys. He always talked about what an amazing athlete Daniel was and recently brought a clipping form the paper of Daniel's winning Basketball team picture. I remember his morning wakeup calls to Daniel. His boys were his world. I am so very thankful to have had him as my work partner. I knew he had my back when I was working. He was always so kind and considerate. He had the best sense of humor and I know he will be missed. He truly touched a lot of lives in a very positive way.
