Barbara Ann Lasher

Sunburst —Barbara 'Barb' Lasher, 75, a secretary from Sunburst, died October 25, 2013, at the Marias Care Center surrounded by family. A vigil will be held at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Sunburst on Monday, Nov. 4 at 1 pm followed by burial of ashes in the Sunburst Cemetery.

She is survived by her children, Sue McMinn of Steilacoom WA, Lorri (Mike) Housel of Sunburst, Bob (Christi) Lasher of Alamogordo, NM and Holly Lasher of Great Falls; and brothers Dave (Marion) Stratton and Calvin (Bonnie) Duerr. Also surviving Barb were the lights of her life: her grandchildren, Sean (Shea), Zack, Alivia, Kylee, Journey, and Daelynn. She was also blessed with her first great-grandchild, Shaine Gilligan, before she passed away. Barb was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Sullens; aunts Jeannie Duerr and Libby Gieger; ex-husband Bob Lasher; and granddaughter Mickie Gilligan.

Barb spent her early years in Great Falls, graduating from Central Catholic High School. She married Bob Lasher and they soon moved to Sunburst to raise their family. Barb worked as a secretary most of her life and also helped Bob run the VFW Club for many years. She met many lifelong friends in the North Country and felt blessed to live and raise her family there. Barb loved to play bridge and was an avid reader. Reading was a pastime she instilled in all of her children. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Many local kids called Barb's house home and that is exactly how she liked it.

Memorials may be donated to the Sunburst Branch Library.
