Vaughn —Barbara Emma (Bosshardt) Curtis, 76, passed away July 20, 2013, at a local healthcare facility of natural causes. At her request, no services are planned. Croxford Funeral Home is entrusted with her cremation and care.
Barbara was born September 13, 1936 to Frank and Esther (Mathistad) Bosshardt. She was raised in Great Falls, graduating from Great Falls High in 1954. She worked at the Vets concession and the Horticulture display at the State Fair for several years, and for a short time at Thisted Motor Company as shop secretary. She graduated from Great Falls Commercial College in 1955 and immediately went to work as a secretary in the superintendent's office of the Great Northern Railway. She married Roy L. Curtis, Sr., May 2, 1957. They lived in Great Falls until moving to Vaughn in the fall of 1963. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader for 9 years and was an election judge in Vaughn.
She enjoyed bowling with family and friends, trips to the mountains, fishing, the families' llamas and canaries, feeding and photographing the many birds that frequented their yard. She also enjoyed playing games with 13 grandchildren and oldest great-granddaughter Rebecca.
Barbara is survived by her husband, her children Esther (Mike) Odegard, Suzanne (Mark) Mattingly, Barbara (Mike) Rasmussen and Roy (Shellie) Curtis; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
