PUYALLUP, WASH. - Daniel Peter Dubé, 61, died of cancer Thursday, May 3 at his home in Puyallup.

Daniel Peter Dubé, 61, passed away Thursday, May 3, following a courageous 14-year battle with cancer. Dan passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
Dan was born in Conrad on April 30, 1951, and was raised in Shelby. He graduated from Shelby High School in 1969, and Pacific Lu-theran University in Tacoma, Wash., in 1973, with a B.A. in Percussion Music and Theory.
Dan worked at Tacoma Screw Products for 17 years until his cancer forced him into premature retirement.
In 1998, Dan was diagnosed with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma (ACC); during Dan's 14-year battle with ACC he became a major player in support groups. In 2009, Dan became President of ACCOI.
Dan is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Dawn (Henning) and his two sons, Anthony (Tony) and Troy; brother Dave (Terri) Dubé of Helena; sister Penny (Chuck) Pefley of Seattle; sister Jenny (Bill) Helmjstad of Casper, Wyo.; and sister Judy (Tom) Benson of Shelby; half-sister Jackie (Jason) Nilson-Nance of Chino Valley, Ariz.; brother-in-law Doug (Joyce) Henning; and sister-in-law Noel (Terry) Schmid; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
