BILLINGS - Eric D. Boisvert, 27, of Billings, died Saturday, July 7, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle collision.

A memorial ceremony is 2 p.m. Friday in the Harlem High School Little Gym, Harlem. Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook is handling arrangements.

Eric was born Sept. 13, 1984, in Havre to Melanie Boisvert and Lyle Magnuson. He attended Harlem schools and graduated from Harlem High School in 2003. In 2006, he married Torrie Azure and started E and T Wood Flooring. They later divorced.

He loved to hunt and fish – anything that was outdoors. Eric served on the Harlem Volunteer Fire Department, and fought wild land fires with the Fort Belknap fire crews. With a deep love for his country, he joined the U.S. Marines in 2010. He returned to Montana in 2011 as a member of the Marine Corps Reserve in Billings. Becoming a Marine was one of his proudest accomplishments.

Eric is survived by his mother, Melanie Boisvert of Billings; father Lyle Magnuson of Yakima, Wash.; stepdad Terry Mace Jr. of Billings; stepbrothers Tyrel (LaToya) Mace and Terry Mace III of Billings; half sister Bobbi Cooper of Miami; grandfather David Boisvert of Harlem; grandfather Dennis (Dee) Patrick of Bothell, Wash.; aunts Jessie (Darren) Friesen of Aurora, Colo., and Deanna (Dennis) Lenz of Billings; uncles Fred (Linda) Magnuson of Wichita, Kan., Ron (Donna) Magnuson of Austin, Texas, Darryl (Cindy) Magnuson and Ross (Char) Magnuson of Billings.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Janet Boisvert, and grandparents Harold and Evelyn Magnuson.

Eric's mother sends a special thank you to my sons, Doyle Bell and Terry and Tyrel Mace for searching for and finding Eric's beloved cocker spaniel, Babe, following the accident.
