Ernest Good Obituary
Ernest "Ernie" Good

Great Falls —Ernie Good was born on May 19, 1921, in Fort Benton, Montana to Robert Good and Mary Morger Good. He was 92 years old when he passed away on November 21, 2013.

Ernie attended school in Cut Bank, Montana and Dillon, Montana. He was an outstanding athlete. The varsity basketball teams he played on in Cut Bank won state championships, largely due to his outstanding skills. After high school he went on to play college basketball at The University of Montana: Western. He was inducted into The Basketball Hall of Fame for the University years later. He refereed high school basketball games, where he was observed running backwards faster than some players ran forward.

In 1946 he married Lucille Johnston, and they had two daughters, Jeri and Ginger.

He served in the Navy during World War II and was part of the Asiatic Pacific Campaign. After discharge, he worked for the U.S. Post Office, then went on to own a real estate and insurance firm in Cut Bank for 25 years (Good-Tabaracci Insurance and Real Estate). Ernie was known for his honesty, and well-liked for his exceptionally outgoing personality.

Ernie was a volunteer fireman for The Cut Bank Fire Department for many years, and was also a lifetime member of The Elks Lodge, Eagles Club, and Moose Lodge. He was an accomplished dancer, and avid sports fan.

In 1991, Ernie married Ruth Willett, and moved to Great Falls. Many people enjoyed their warm hospitality in the home they shared for 22 years.

Ernie's last two years were spent as a resident of Missouri River Manor. His antics, personality, and travel on his scooter to the various areas of the large facility allowed him to make many friendships. Thank you to the staff of MRM for the kind compassion and care, particularly the staff of the 500 wing.

He will be greatly missed by many.

Ernie is survived by his wife, Ruth; daughters, Jeri Good-O'Connor (Tom) of Rocklin, CA; Ginger Fazio (Gary) of Colleyville, TX; his sister, Gloria Goodale of Logan, KS; step-brother, Melvin Good (Pat) of Lakewood, CO ; and grandchildren, Justin Lewis, Candice Lewis, and Garrett Fazio.

Croxford Funeral Home in Great Falls is handling all arrangements. There will be a private family memorial at the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument where Ernie will be interred.
