Jonathan Balyeat Obituary
Jonathan Balyeat

Jonathan Balyeat, 34, of Sand Coulee, passed away on November 14, 2013 in a car accident. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 23rd, at Vineyard Christian Fellowship (1617 6th Ave N) at 2:00 pm. Jonathan was born February 25, 1979 in Spokane, Washington. He grew up traveling with his family across the U.S. in their home business of Hidden Verse Art. He met his future wife at home school functions when they were still children. The families became good friends. Jonathan and Rebecca [Brown] married on October 10, 1997. They have two children, Hezekiah and Virginia, whom Jonathan took on the task of home schooling. He was very close and devoted to his wife and children. Jonathan was passionate about martial arts. He owned and taught at White Tiger's Den Martial Arts. He began training in martial arts at the age of 16, which sparked his life-long involvement. Jonathan was a dedicated teacher and was much loved and appreciated by his students. His son, Hezekiah, had recently acquired a second degree black belt. Virginia said Dad was always teaching us something. Jonathan was devoted to family, contacting parents and siblings almost daily, [even if only to hear their latest ring-back tone]. He was a good friend and communicator, looking for an individual's interests and filling you in on all his projects and ideas. Jonathan loved the LORD, praying with his Father several times a week and encouraging others. Jonathan is survived by his wife, Rebecca; son, Hezekiah; daughter, Virginia; father, Robert; mother, Nancy; father-in-law, Robert; mother-in-law, Mary Anne; brothers, Joel and James; sisters, Johanna, Susanna, Rose, Mary Anna, Charis, Charity; grandparents, Earl R. and Jean; and several nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Preceded in death by son Ash Robert. For those who would like to help there is a memorial fund set up at Wells Fargo Bank. It is set up under "Jonathan Balyeat Memorial Fund'.
