Billings —Margaret (Nemec) Manfredi, 90, passed away due to natural causes on Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Butterfly Homes Assisted Living in Billings, Montana.
She was born on June 11, 1923 in Sand Coulee, Montana to John and Mary (Mikula) Nemec. Margaret spent her early years in the Sand Coulee area where her father worked in the coal mines and farmed during the depression years. Margaret graduated from Great Falls High School in 1941 and, before her marriage, worked as a teller at First National Bank in Great Falls where she made many lifelong friends.
Margaret married Frank Manfredi in 1948 and followed her husband in his United States Air Force career. After military service, they established a home in Great Falls, Montana where Frank worked with the Montana Air National Guard. Their family included three children: John (Candace) Manfredi of Yakima WA; Mary Baumann of Billings MT, and Susan Brueggeman of Polson MT. Margaret enjoyed dancing, gardening, sewing, crocheting, and visiting with friends and family. She will be fondly remembered for her loving care of family and home, for her love of violets which she freely shared, and for her perseverance with any task she took on.
Survivors include her children, grandchildren: Troy (Angeline) Manfredi, John Brueggeman, Brad (Megan) Baumann, and Brandy (Steve) Horton. She was great-grandmother to four wonderful children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her siblings John Nemec, Mike Nemec, Andy Nemec, Mary (Nemec) Laird; son-in-law Paul Brueggeman, and grandson Ben Manfredi.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, June 22nd, at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Great Falls. A reception for family and friends will follow; the location will be announced at the services.
