Milton L. Oatman

Great Falls —Milton L. Oatman, 77, retired United States Air Force Master Sgt. passed away from cancer the morning of June 26th at his home.

Funeral services will take place Monday, July 1, 2013 the O'Connor Memorial Chapel at 2:00 p.m., with a graveside service to follow at Highland Cemetery.

Milton was born in Kerrville, TX on July 4, 1935 to Elmer and Dollie Oatman. He attended schools in Kerrville and San Antonio and graduated from Uvalde High in 1954.

He married Margaret Bryce in 1955 and has two sons, Myron, with his children Mat of Seattle, WA, Jason (Alexis) and Josh of Great Falls, and son Malcolm (Theresa) with their children Mattea, Annie, and Abigail of Warroad, MN. Milton had been married to Margaret for 58 years.

While in the service, he was assigned to different bases, taking his family with him on all but two assignments. He retired with 20 years service and received the rank of Master Sergeant. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching baseball, and being with his sons, grandsons, and relatives from Texas. He did his best to support his grandchildren in their many activities. They were all born to be hunters, and they enjoyed it tremendously in the Big Sky Country.

Preceding him in death was his father and mother, Elmer and Dollie Oatman; brothers Elmer and Sam Oatman; sister Ann Page; sisters-in-law Helen Redding and Jean Hale; brothers-in-law Homer Hale and George Sweeten.
