Quin Loendorf Obituary

VALIER - Quin LaVern Loendorf, 22, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, of injuries he received in a single-vehicle rollover crash.

A celebration of his life is 2 p.m. Sept. 10 in the Valier High School gym. Pondera Funeral Home is in charge of arrange-ments.

Quin was born July 20, 1989, in Conrad, to Ron and Lisa Loendorf. His mom said when he was born he fist-bumped the doctor and said, "Glad to be here, where's the food?" and he took joy in everyone he met after that.

Quin was a 2008 graduate of Valier High School, and was preparing to begin his senior year at the University of Montana School of Journalism. He was one of only nine college students in the nation accepted into the Dow Jones News Fund Internship Program, which landed him a position as an intern on the sports copy desk of The Denver Post this past summer.

Quin never missed an opportunity to be involved. While in high school, he was a member of the VHS football, track and golf teams, all while keeping up a 3.83 GPA and serving as class president all four years of high school.

During his senior year of high school, Quin began working for "The Valierian," and continued his employment there during the summers of his first two years at UM. He was instrumental in publishing the first edition of the Pondera County Guide. He wore many hats during his time with The Valierian - reporter, ad salesman and photographer - and loved every second of it.

In college, Quin didn't slow down, double-majoring in journalism and Japanese. He was very active in the Japanese Club at UM, worked at The Kaimin - UM's newspaper - and was also developing a love for photogra-phy.

Quin spent a great deal of time with his girlfriend, Saya, and was able to visit her in Japan twice, learning more about the people and the culture than he ever could in the classroom.

Quin is survived by his mother, Lisa Loendorf of Valier; his brother, Vincent Loendorf of Great Falls; and the love of his life, Sayaka Tada of Tokyo, Ja-pan.

Quin was preceded in death by his father, Ron Loendorf.

Memorials in Quin's memory may be made to the Quin Loendorf Memorial Fund, c/o Lisa Loendorf, P.O. Box 143, Valier, MT 59486. Memorial funds will be used for a Valier High School scholarship and a University of Montana School of Journalism scholarship. A portion of the funds will be donated to Quality Life Concepts.

Dear Vincent and Family,
We send our deepest sympathy as you grieve Quin's sudden passing and spend much time remembering the moments you shared with him, moments that for now will most surely be a source of sadness rather than joy. We are praying for your comfort through the Lord, Jesus Christ, that He will tenderly hold your breaking hearts, assuring you that His love is eternal and that He will provide the courage you require to face these troubling days.

Lisa, I used to be Hevig's Glacier Ave. neighbor. I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your beautiful son so soon after the loss of your Aunt Doris. The portrait of his life reads like he was an excellent person and no doubt a loving son and brother. Please take comfort in that.
