Great Falls —Dorothy Mae Guill, of Great Falls, passed away of natural causes on March 30, 2014, just one day before her 95th birthday. A celebration of life will be held Friday, April 4 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Elks Lodge. Visitation will be open to family and friends on Thursday, April 3 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm in the Rose Room at Croxford Funeral Home.
Dorothy was born in Great Falls on March 31, 1919 to Thomas and Olive (McGee) Hopkins. She was raised in Eden and Sun River, graduating from Simms High School. In June of 1941 she was married to Foley Guill in Shelby, MT. Dorothy worked as a seamstress at LMH Co. in Great Falls. She was an active member of 4H Club, Girl Scouts, and Sun River Methodist Church and participated in various fund raisers for the Sun River Valley.
Her hobbies included reading, sewing, knit & crochet, crossword puzzles, baking, poker machines, gardening and taking care of her grandkids. She was a lifelong fan of country western music, and toward the end of her life it brought her great comfort.
Survivors include husband, Foley Guill, of Great Falls; daughters, Glenda Smith (Marvin) of Fort Shaw Bench, Nila Fields, of Great Falls; sons, Randy Guill (Mary) of Great Falls, Terry (Helen) Guill, also of Great Falls; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Those who have preceded her in death are her parents; sister, Ruth Williams; brother, Arthur Hopkins; and grandsons, Brad Olson and Jeffrey Fields.
