Aubrey was born March 24, 2009, in Grand Forks, N.D., the daughter of Amanda Knecht and Ryan Gjerswold. At 6 months old, Aubrey was diagnosed with epilepsy. She faced many battles throughout her short life, but always had a smile on her face through them. Aubrey was just starting to walk on her own and loved the new freedoms.
Aubrey loved anything "Lady Bugs," and when she was happy she would squeal in delight. She was a real snuggler, loved to laugh at people when they wiggled their eyebrows, and loved people whether she knew them or not. Aubrey was an inspiration to everyone who had ever met her.
Family members who survive our angel include her parents, Ryan and Amanda; and a sister, Mackenzie Gjerswold, all of East Grand Forks; grandparents Tammi (fiancé Duane) Hofland of East Grand Forks, Peggy (fiancé Ken) Knecht of East Grand Forks, Mark (fiancée Tina) Gjerswold of Vancouver, Wash., and Tom (Dorene) Knecht of La Center, Wash.; great-grandmothers Carol Gjerswold of Grand Forks, N.D., and Marilyn Leazenby of Fort Benton, Mont.; uncles Arron (Cheri) Gjerswold of Alvarado, Minn., and Mack (Missy) Knecht; and aunt Onie (Chris) Knecht, all of Choteau, Mont.; and many more extended family and friends.
