James "Jim" Morgan, 83, of Great Falls, a farmer on the Fairfield Bench, died of natural causes Wednesday, May 2, at a local nursing home.

Jim was born Roger Julius Bremseth on Aug. 15, 1930, in Canton, Minn. He moved to Montana as a young man and changed his name to James Morgan. He met and married Violet Wiseman on Sept. 19, 1951, and together they had two children. They later divorced.
Jim worked as a ranch hand on area ranches and was a leather worker at Ario's Saddlery.
He was a member of the Cascade County Sheriff's Posse in the 60s. As a posse member, their responsibilities included search and rescue and patrolling the fairgrounds. all on horseback.
Survivors include his ex-wife; daughter Esther Peek; son Bruce Morgan; granddaughters Jamie Mann and Shauna Peek; great-granddaughter Alanna English; and great-grandson Jaden Mann.
