His funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 201 44th St. S., and entombment will follow at Hillcrest Lawn Mausoleum, with a reception to follow at the church. Arrangements under the direction of Croxford Funeral Home.
Jerry was born in Great Falls on July 29, 1936, to Dick and Dorothy (Collins) Woolsey. Jerry joined the U.S. Air Force on Jan. 21, 1953. He served in Europe and South East Asia. Jerry worked for Communications Construction. He retired from the Air Force in 1973 after 20 years of service.
Jerry married Barbara Wellby in 1962. They later divorced. Together they had two children. He later married the love of his life, Theresa Hursman, on Nov. 17, 1973, and gained a whole new family.
Jerry enjoyed putting things together like jigsaw puzzles with Theresa, traveling, yard work, reading Louis L'Amour westerns and his family. He enjoyed horsing around with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There was nothing he liked more than pulling pranks and telling jokes … anything to get a smile or laugh.
Jerry drove truck after his retirement and later drove bus for the Great Falls Dodgers and Special Olympics. He loved the time he shared with the Dodgers and especially enjoyed time with his Special Olympic kids. He also volunteered at Benefis Nursing Home. Jerry will be greatly missed by all.
He is survived by his wife Theresa; sons Carl (Stacey) Woolsey of Key West, Fla., and Kelly (Julie) Hursman of Great Falls; daughters Mandy Yeager of Washington, Kathy (Rick) Skinner of Helena and Karel (Ken) Barrett of Kalispell; grandsons Shane (Amy) Hall, Travis Barrett, David Barrett, Shawn (Nicole) Barrett and Danny Gustafson; and seven great-grandchildren.
