Henry was born June 27, 1930, to Henry and Blanche (Beaulieu) St. Onge in Lowell, Mass., where he was raised and educated.
Following the death of his father, he needed to go to work at a young age. He delivered groceries and worked various jobs, including the railroad, before he entered the U.S. Air Force. After tech school, he was stationed in Great Falls until 1955, where he was then assigned to a number of bases, including a tour in Tripoli, Libya, North Africa. He was stationed back in Great Falls from 1962 to 1966 and returned to Great Falls, making it their home when he retired after 23 years in the military. He continued to work civil service at the commissary until he retired in 1993.
He married Maryanne Cox on November 1952 in Great Falls. Maryanne and Ray had four children together. Maryanne passed away April 20, 1978, after 26 years of marriage.
Henry was a lifetime member of the Elk Lodge and was with the drum and bugle corps.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to cook for everyone. No one came to his home without him fixing food for them.
Survivors include his sons, Ray (Shar) St. Onge of Fort Shaw and Ronnie (Sherri) St. Onge of Vaughn; his daughter, Diane (Dave) Anderson of Vaughn; special friend and companion, Susan Newberg of Helena; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
