Lula Buckley Obituary
Lula Buckley, 89, of Great Falls, died of natural causes Tuesday, Jan. 1, at Peace Hospice Residence Center.

Her memorial service is 1 p.m. Saturday at Central Assembly of God, 2001 Central Ave., Great Falls.

Lula was born July 7, 1923, in Wolf Point. She later moved to Great Falls, where she was raised and educated. She married Paul Buckley on Oct. 14, 1950, on the shores of Lake McDonald.

Lula worked as a maid most of her life at various hotels, including the Heritage Inn, Super 8 and Red Lion in Missoula. She was active as a foster grandmother at Chief Joseph Elementary in Great Falls up until her death.

Lula had a faithful companion the last few years of her life, a little white Maltese named Becky that she loved very much. Lula enjoyed doing word search puzzles and her family.

Survivors include sons Terry Petronek and Scott Buckley both of Great Falls; son Mark Buckley of Boise; daughters Trudy Ebert of Yalaha, Fla., and Tammy Hynes of Belgrade; brothers Orville and Earl Good; sister Lorraine Watne; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband Paul Buckley; daughters Nancy Buckley and Bonnie Schildt; and son Gil Gilliland.
