Katy was born in Warsaw, Poland, on June 6, 1926, and married the love of her life, Johnny, on June 9, 1946. In May 1949, they settled in Great Falls and began their family.
Katy was resilient in life. She survived World War II and breast cancer. Katy always put up a strong fight and many would describe her as feisty! She worked hard and always made sure her family was well taken care of. Some of the unforgettable memories of Katy are making Perogi or Babka, watching wrestling with Johnny, tending to her garden and flowers, playing family games of Pinochle and later in life, relaxing at the Keno machine.
Katy is survived by her son, Matt (Diane) Piekarz of Great Falls; daughters, Basia (Kevin) McCarthy of Seattle, Wash., and Pam (Whylie) Williams of Warner Robins, Ga.; grandchildren, Chris Piekarz and Chad (Missy) Piekarz, both of Reno, Nev., Bree Piekarz of Pensacola, Fla., John Piekarz of Great Falls, Nicole (Ryan) Hardie and Micki (Melissa) Paul both of Seattle, Wash., and Whylie "Bo" Williams and Rian Williams, both of Warner Robins, Ga.; and three great-grandchildren.
Momma, the tears in our eyes can be wiped away, but the memories in our hearts will forever stay. We love you. See you later alligator.
