SEQUIM, Wash. Betty Johnson Pfaff, 88, of Sequim, Wash, died of cancer Monday, Jan. 21, at her home.



No services are planned, as per her request. Cremation has taken place.



Born Oct. 17, 1924, in Bremerton, Wash. to Alma and Ruben Johnson. She moved to Seattle, Wash. and graduated from Queen Ann high school, Class of '42. She remained in Seattle and graduated from University of Washington in 1947 with a BA degree in Home Economics. While there she was President of Associated Woman Students and Mortar Board. She was also President of Omnicron Nu, home economics honorary and President of Pi Lambda Thera, education honorary. Her sorority affiliation was Alpha Chi Omega.



She married John Pfaff in Aug. 1947, and they moved to Chicago and St. Louis before making their home in Great Falls. Here she became president of PTA at Chief Joseph and was a Pink Lady at Columbus Hospital for 20 years. She was also active as secretary of the Great Falls Crisis Center for 10 years and secretary for Montana State Medical Auxiliary. When John retired from active medical practice, they moved to Whitefish and enjoyed outdoor activities in skiing, fishing, river rafting and annual trips to Alaska. When cold winters and snow shoveling became too difficult, they moved to Sequim, Wash. where they enjoyed the climate, clam digging, berry picking and musical concerts with their friends and neighbors. While there, Betty was active in the Myrtle Kienle Children's Hospital Guild of Edmonds, Wash., she also served as president.



Betty is survived by two children, Barbara Sinacore of Albany, N.Y. and Jon Martin Pfaff of Bell Canyon, Calif.; as well as seven grandchildren.
