Lois A. Rensvold

Billings —Lois A. Pilgrim Rensvold, born December 13, 1926 in Wolf Point, MT passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2013, following a significant stroke. Lois was the oldest of nine children born to Joe and Edna Pilgrim. She attended the Horgan country school, spent her freshman year of high school with family in San Bernardino, CA and graduated from Wolf Point High School.

Lois married Stanley Rensvold on December 15, 1946. Together with their eight children, Lois and Stanley lived on and worked their farm north of Wolf Point.

Lois was an active member of First Lutheran Church, the Happy Homemakers, the Wolf Point 100 Club, and the Seniors Center. One of her favorite projects was quilting with her friends at First Lutheran. Over the years they made thousands of quilts that were donated to Lutheran World Relief.

Always a strong supporter of her family, she worked hard to ensure they were well cared for. In their respective times of need she nursed husband Stanley and her mother Edna until their passing. In 2009 she moved to Billings to be closer to family.

Lois was preceded in death by husband Stanley, her parents Joe and Edna Pilgrim, her sisters Denyse, Marilyn, and Jeannie, and brother Gary. She is survived by her eight children: Sandy (Jack) Theroux of Vancouver, WA; Ben (Diane) of Tucson, AZ; Julie (Bob) Ware of Carlin, NV; Bob (Kay) of Rapid City, SD; Art (Debbie) of Billings; Neil (Kay) of Pattison, TX; Ronda (Jerry Jerome) Rasmussen of Conrad; and Wade (Andrea) of Allen, TX plus 19 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Lois is also survived by her three sisters: Carol (Red) Nelson of Shelby; Julia Ruhl of Bozeman; and Gail Clingingsmith of Glendive; and her brother Joe (Carolyn) Pilgrim of Wolf Point plus many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at First Lutheran Church in Wolf Point with Pastor Greg Holler-Dinsmore officiating. Her ashes will be buried next to Stanley in Greenwood Cemetery in Wolf Point. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to the Wolf Point 100 Club or the .
