Great Falls —Eugene Victor 'Gene' Vice, 95, passed away peacefully of natural causes at his home on Saturday, June 15, 2013. Celebration of Life services will be held Wednesday, June 19th, 2:30pm, Croxford Funeral Home. A reception will follow the service at the Vice residence.
Gene was born to Victor and Irene Vice on April 28, 1918 in Great Falls. He married Rosetta 'Rosie' Murphy on September 18, 1940. He was a lifelong farmer and rancher in Eden. He was a carpenter, electrician and a miner in the Butte mines. He was a charter member of the Carpenter's Union No. 82 for 64 years. He loved to bowl, dance and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He played a crafty game of pinochle. He was a member of the BPOE Elks Club and a member of the Eagles Lodge in Great Falls. And he was the wonderful father of three children.
He is survived by his wife Rosie and their three children Shirley Collins (Rich Myers) of Overland Park, KS, Jeanne (Larry) Johns of Helena, and Allen (Robin) Vice of Great Falls; seven grandchildren JoAnn Schmille, Nicole Elespuru, Todd Vice, Heather Lilly, Stephanie Johns, Tawni Johns and Kimberly (Tim) O'Neal; and 13 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Ellen Rea and brother Edward.
