Julie "Jewels" Eckersley

Great Falls —Julie A. "Jewels" (Bryson) Hansen Eckersley, 53, of Great Falls, passed away at her home on Friday, June 14. Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 20 at 11 am at First Baptist Church located at 525 2nd Ave North. Pastor Bob McCloud will be officiating. Burial will take place on Friday at Sunset Hills in Bozeman. Croxford Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Jewels is survived by her husband, Joseph Eckersley of Great Falls; daughter Lisa (Aaron) Homeans of Boise, ID; sons Eddie (Betty) Hansen of Nashville, TN, and Jason Eckersley of Boise, ID; sister Mary Beth Peebles of Ft. Dodge, IA; brothers Ken and Tim Bryson of Midland, TX; two grandchildren; all of her many friends; as well as Hammer, Shaemus, and Liz, her kids (dogs).

Those who have preceded her in death include her parents, Ron and Helen Bryson; husband Stan Hansen; and son Jimmy Hansen.

Jewels was born November 29, 1959 in Great Falls. She attained her bachelor's degree in accounting at MSU Bozeman. She used her degree in various ways, working for Cascade County Elections Office, Expo Park, Lithia Motors, the Great Falls International Airport, and Putnam Trucking. Her first husband, Stan Hansen, sadly passed away in 1989. She was remarried in 2000 to Joseph Eckersley.

She was a very active member of the community, taking part in Relay For Life, MDA, Eagle Mount's Margarita Meltdown, Big Brothers Big Sisters, among many other activities through the local Harley Owners group including playing Mrs. Claus. She enjoyed riding her bike Louie, cooking, entertaining, hunting, fishing, gardening, shopping, road trips, and wine. She had an outrageous smile and laugh but everyone will remember her Shoes and Bling.
