Kevin G. 'Catfish' Nassett

Midland, Texas —Kevin G. (Catfish) Nassett passed away November 17, 2013. Kevin was born on October 24, 1954 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota to Aldora & Carl Nassett. He was raised in Great Falls, Montana. Kevin graduated from C.M.R. High School in 1972. He served four years in the army at Ft. Hood in Killeen, Texas. In 1980, Kevin moved to Midland, Texas. Kevin met Kaye McCabe in 1983 and began working as a mechanic and then moved on to the oilfield. He worked for 1st Tri Service Drilling, BJM, Big Dog, F.W.A and the last twelve years he worked with Mattlock Drilling. He worked in every position, at the time of his death he was working as a drilling supervisor and looked forward to going to work every day because he worked with the most caring and wonderful people at Mattlock. They are all like family, and Kevin loved that atmosphere the most. Kevin was preceded in death by his parents; step-father Marvin Knapstad; and brother Terry Nassett. Kevin is survived by his wife, Kaye Nassett; son Eric G. Korst of Great Falls, Montana; brothers Casey (Virginia) Nassett of Midland, Texas, Dennis (Tracy) Nassett of Phoenix, Arizona, and Jim Knapstad of Great Falls, Montana; sisters Carla (Jerry) Goodwin of Great Falls, Montana, Zita (Max) Cebulla of Cut Bank, Montana; stepson Darren Huggins (Paula Vachon) of Copper Canyon, Texas; grandchildren Tyler and Tanner Korst as well as Zachary Huggins; nephews - Clint, Chris, Max, Clay, Darin, James, Dusty, and Justin Johnson; nieces Sammie, Tara, Lisa, Ainee, and Danielle; great nephew Dusty Taylor Johnson, Jr. Kevin had three brothers-in-law Bill (Bylinda) McCabe of LaVerina, Texas, and John (Dana) McCabe of San Angelo, TX. as well as Robert (Marie) McCabe of Pueblo, Colorado. Kevin had many close friends such as: Charlie Binder, Kenneth (Red) Brown, Robert Luna, Tyler (Moose) Mitchell, Doug Dingus, Domingo Magana, and many more. Kevin's best friend was his black Labrador retriever, Mollie who was always waiting at the door for Kevin to come home and play. We cannot say enough thanks to Jackie & Vicki Matthews the owners of Mattlock Drilling for their incredible generosity and acts of kindness. To the most wonderful doctors - "the best" - Dr. Karen Carr (Oncology), Dr. G. Brachetta (Surgeon), and Dr. P.K. Patel (lung specialist). The most wonderful and caring nurses on the 7th floor (Oncology) as well as the nurses on the 5th floor (CCU).
