Beverly Alice Petersen

Conrad —Beverly Petersen passed in her sleep at the Eagles Manor in Great Falls. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. January 8, 2014 at Pondera Valley Lutheran Church in Conrad, luncheon to follow. Private burial will take place at a later date. The Pondera Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Beverly Hastings was born to Virginia and Hilary Hastings July 18, 1929. She graduated from Conrad High School and completed a degree in cosmetology in Great Falls. Beverly married Russell Petersen in November 1948. They farmed east of Brady for many years until his death. Beverly then moved to Colorado Springs to be with her daughter Connie Petersen and grandson Michael. Beverly was very active in the artist community, exhibiting and managing operations for the Colorado Springs Art Guild.

Later, Beverly moved back to Great Falls where she shared a home with daughter Estelle Petersen then with son Gregory Petersen and his family, including new grandson Dell Petersen. Beverly was docent at the Charles Russell Museum and volunteered at the Great Falls Senior Center.

Beverly is survived by brother, Ralph Hastings; daughter Connie Petersen; stepson Russell Petersen; grandsons Dr. Michael Golinski and Dell Petersen as many well beloved nieces and nephews, cousins and sisters-in-law.

Dr. Michael Golinski shares the following special thoughts regarding his grandmother:

Beverly Petersen's light will continue to shine brightly on the lives of friends and family. She was a truly unique human being whose wisdom and intelligence concurred during her life. Her presence brought a feeling.to those who knew her of a soft hand gently touching their brows. She will be missed, but her essence will continue through time.

Donations in lieu of flowers should be made to the Great Falls Senior Citizens Center at 1004 Central Avenue; Great Falls, MT 59401.

Our dear Aunt Bev was preceded in death by her daughter, Annie, her son, Dell, her son, Hilary, her daughter, Estelle, and her son, Greg, her husband, Russell, and her brother, David Hastings. LaVonne Hastings shared her life like a sister and our family, Kathy Hager (Darell), Judy Goudette-Hastings (Rob), Mark Hastings(Peggy), Thomas Hastings, Diana Krumm (Cory), Carol McCormick (Sam), and Elizabeth Hashimoto (Tom) will all miss their second mom very much. She was a soft spoken and kind woman we all loved.
