Virginia Carol Hubert

Great Falls —Virginia Carol Hubert, 90, of Great Falls, died on February 8, 2017 of natural causes at Peace Hospice.

A viewing will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 13, 2017 at Schnider Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Virginia was born on September 6, 1926 to Henry and Olive Newton in Bridgeport, Texas. She received her education in Bridgeport and graduated high school in 1944. This is where she met the love of her life; Don Hubert Sr. Don was stationed at the nearby Army base in Fort Worth, Texas. Virginia and Don married on February 2, 1946 after Don's return from being stationed in New Guinea during a portion of WWII.

Virginia was an active member of the Eastern Star. She was a devoted wife and mother, and enjoyed traveling around with her husband, where they were stationed at different military bases throughout the United States and the world. Her hobbies included being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, fishing, bird watching, embroidery and tending to her beautiful flowers. She especially loved her roses.

Survivors include son Don Hubert Jr. of Great Falls; grandchildren Misti (Coleman) Axtman, Natalie Jeremy, Lara Thomas and Darin Alm; seven great-grandchildren; other family members include Eugene (Fran) Hubert of Maine and Sonya Hubert; many nieces and nephews in Texas, Maine and Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Olive Newton; her husband, Don Hubert Sr.; son Robert "Bob" Hubert; and daughter Carolyn Alm.
