Obituary Condolences

HAVRE - Clayton J. Quinnell Sr., 56, of Havre, a Vietnam War Navy veteran, died Thursday at a Great Falls hospital from complications of injuries received in a motorcycle accident earlier this year.
Graveside services with military honors are 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Montana State Veterans Cemetery in Fort Harrison. A memorial service is 3 p.m. Friday at the 5th Avenue Christian Church in Havre, with a reception to follow at the church. Retz Funeral Home of Helena is handling arrangements.
Clayton is survived by his three children, Carmen (Michael) Baker of Harlem, Kendall Quinnell of Shelby, and Clayton (Jamie) Quinnell Jr. of Havre; brothers Anthony Quinnell of Kalispell and Lloyd (Sharon) Quinnell of Savage; sisters Brenda Wilson of Havre and Donna (Thomas) Kellogg of Watford City, N.D.; and six grandchildren.
Clayton was born April 28, 1951, in Tempe, Ariz., to Lars Quinnell and Mary (Sarich) Quinnell. He attended Coronado High School in Scottsdale, Ariz., until he entered the United States Navy in 1969 and served until his honorable discharge in 1983.
Clayton married Karen Colwell in June of 1973 and out of this union had three children, Carmen, Kendall and Clayton Jr.
Clayton was a very likable person who enjoyed history, camping, firearms, mechanics and especially his friends and family.
Clayton was preceded in death by his parents, Lars and Mary Quinnell; brothers Noral "Bud" and Stephen Quinnell; and a sister, Beverly Sarich.
