Felchlin, Amber G.
Amber G. Felchlin (nee Heise), God's humble servant, passed away at her Greenleaf home on April 22, 2014, after a long and valiant struggle with breast cancer. She was sung peacefully to her final sleep in the arms of her loving daughter, Annie, with her faithful dog, Louie at her side. Amber was born on June 24, 1936, in Omro, Wisconsin to William and Emma Heise. On November 13, 1954, she married Jim Felchlin, the love of her life, who preceded her in death in 2001.
A loving wife and mother, Amber was a woman with an extraordinarily generous heart. She had a warm smile and a kind word for everyone she met. She shared her many talents widely, creating gorgeous wedding cakes, hand painted ornaments, and knowing just the right touch needed for the perfect pie crust. In addition to raising five children of her own, she opened her heart and home to many foster children, and to hundreds of friends and family.
She will be sadly missed by her sons, Rick and Bob Felchlin, and daughter Annie (Scott) Tichenor of Lawrence, Kansas; her sisters Dorothy Szep and Norma Arndt; sister-in-law, Laurene Quateman; her daughter-in-law, Laura Felchlin; and grandchildren: Angela Felchlin, Jesse (Rachel) Felchlin, Luke (Kristina) Felchlin, Carlie (Matt) Petersen, Brent (Allison) Felchlin, Tyler (Elizabeth) Felchlin, Shannon Tichenor; and great-grandchildren, Brock, Trey and Tyson Felchlin, Gavin, Easton and Cullen Felchlin, Anna and Cole Petersen, Michael Jacobs, Jordyn and Brody Felchlin, Elora Felchlin, and many honorary nieces, nephews, grandchildren and friends.
Amber was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, her sons, Dan and Larry, and sisters and brothers Eric, Herbie Fritz, Carl, Quincy, Lenora, Willie, Alma and Irma.
The family invites you to celebrate the life of this gentle spirit on Sunday, April 27 at Morrison Zion Lutheran Church, 7395 Cty Rd W, Greenleaf. Visitation at the church from 1-4 and service at 4pm. Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund is being established. Online condolences may be sent to Amber's family at www.prokowall.com.
The family would like to thank all those who helped Amber on her final road to the Lord, especially her caregivers, Unity Hospice, and personal nurse and friend, Kathy Riebe, and the many friends who offered support in so many ways.

Felchlin Family,
My memories of your mother were mostly from Guns St. growing up. She was always such a special person with a gentle spirit and kind smile. I will continue to treasure the beautiful white ceramic angel (with gold wings)she made for me and the Blessed Virgin Mary she made for my mother which I inherited. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

To Amber's family,
What a wonderful lady. Amber and Jim were such good friends of our family and parents for years. Her Christmas ornaments are precious and she will be missed, but the reward is Ambers! It is hard to say good-bye to those who depart this earth, but until we see Amber again with all the other saints, in heaven, praying for your peace and comfort to you Amber's children and grandchildren.

My deepest sympathy with the passing of your Mother. The Lord took home another Angel today. She was always a light at any concert Steve or Brent put on, and never spoke a harsh word about anything. Only if we could all be like her. I am a neighbor, a friend, fellow classmate to Rick and follower of bluegrass.Your Mother was always a special friend. God Bless.

Dear Annie, Rick and Bob
Your mom was a very warm, talented person. My husband and I recently moved from the neighborhood to New Holstein, but I met your mom because of our garage door. You see, I painted a scene on it and your mom and little Louie stopped in one day I was outside and commented on it. When I found out she painted also, we hit it right off. She showed me her projects, and was so proud of the cereal box she used to paint the gorgeous flower picture which sat on the easel her son made in her dining room. She was so proud of her husband and her children. We are truly sorry for your loss and will remember Amber with warmth and fond memories.

So sorry for your loss. What a beautiful, faith filled, loving sweet soul your mom was. Truly an inspirational lady for all of us. I didn't get to see your mom that often but when I did she always made me feel so good. I will always treasure the ornaments I got from her just like my cedar chest your dad made. I'm sure it is a joyous reunion in heaven. And Annie I heard the nicest compliment you could get from one of her friends. She said you are just like her- sweet and kind.
