Kobus, Henry
Henry F. Kobus, 79, of Green Bay passed away Friday, December 28, 2012 at his home after a battle with a rare form of stomach cancer. The son of the late Emil and Minnie (Bieber) Kobus was born June 20, 1933 in the Town of Brazeau. He attended Golden Horn grade school, a one room school house, from 1940 to 1947. He spent his childhood growing up around White Potato Lake where he learned to hunt anything that could run or fly, catch anything that could swim, and pick anything that was edible. He served in the Army in Germany from 1955 to 1957 where he received his GED. He was married to Carol Schwartz on August 5, 1961 at St. Mary Church, Crivitz. He worked for High Line Construction for a year; he then worked as an engineering technician with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for 30 years where he worked as an inspector on many of the major bridge projects in Northeastern Wisconsin until he retired in 1990. He was fortunate to spend most of his life, and his retirement, in good health enjoying the outdoors and all it had to offer with family and friends until the last year of his life. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends along with his fish fry's and boils, smoked fish, wild mushrooms and blueberries.
Surviving are his wife Carol, his three children Faith (Don) Murray, Kurt (Lisa), and Tom (Lynn) all of Green Bay; four grandchildren Julie, Rachel, Bryce and Brooke; two sisters; Ella Patz and Helen Zeitler both of Pound; sister-in-law Josephine Kobus of Marinette; many nieces, nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter Lori Lee; three brothers, Chet, Roy, and Elmer Kobus; and his sister, Marion Buege. Along with, not due to lack of effort, all the blue berries he could not find; deer that out smarted him; fish that would not bite or that were caught and released over his limit; walleyes he was not allowed to keep on a Michigan Lake; and brook trout in beaver ponds at locations, not shared, and unknown.
Family and friends may call at the Nicolet Memorial Gardens, 2770 Bay Settlement Road, Green Bay from 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2013, with interment to follow. To leave a message for the family, please visit www.NewcomerGreenBay.com

Faith and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. It is so hard to lose a parent, but take comfort in the fact that he is no longer suffering. In fact he is probably chit chatting with my mom as we speak! They are both in a better place right now, and we will see them on the other side I am sure. Take care of your mom, as it will be very hard on her, as it was (and is) on my dad. Be strong for her, and my thoughts and prayers are with you as you mourn the passing of a great man.
