Flynn, Francis (Bud)
Francis "Bud" Flynn, 89, Allouez, passed away January 1, 2013.
He was born June 30, 1923 in Lawrence, WI to the late Frank and Anna (Kettenhofen) Flynn. Bud graduated from Green Bay East High School with the class of 1940. He attended St. Norbert College, Oshkosh State Teachers College, the University of California-Berkeley, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Bud served his country in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946.
Bud married Joyce Ahola on March 17, 1979. He worked in marketing and sales for Wisconsin Blue Cross - Blue Shield for 37 years, retiring in 1988. Throughout his career he received numerous awards for his demonstration of excellence and high professional standards in sales and marketing. Bud enjoyed golf, fishing, and hunting, and most of all spending time with his family. He loved people and was always ready with a joke to tell.
Bud is survived by his wife, Joyce, daughter, Mary Flynn and her husband, Marc McClure, daughter, Jennie (Bill) Beaumier, grandchildren, William, Anna, and Ashley Beaumier, sons, Patrick and Daniel (Penni) Flynn, grandchildren, Jake and Blake Flynn, and daughter, Sara Flynn. Bud is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Jerome and Lyman, and sisters, Leah, Margeurite, Sally, Ann (Betsy), and Mary Genevieve.
Family and friends may call Saturday, January 5, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Drive, Allouez, with Bishop Robert Morneau officiating. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Wrightstown. Cotter Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com.
