Siekmann, Joyce D.
Siekmann, Joyce D. Joyce D. (Mohs) Siekmann died and received her eternal crown of life on Friday, April 22, 2016 after a brief illness at age 86. She was surrounded by husband Vernon and numerous family members. Joyce was born May 19, 1929 to Elsie (Suckow) and Louis Mohs in Sheboygan, WI. She met and married the love of her life Vernon W. Siekmann on June 25, 1949. It was obvious to many; they truly were two that became one. Their final hours in the hospital were memorable! Joyce was a faithful and loving wife, helping Vern with activities in the schools and churches where they ministered to many families; sharing the Good News of Jesus through childcare, LWML and Kirby Smith, Inc. Her life involved family as they raised 8 children and always enjoyed times hosting family holidays and other gatherings, including a great meal. When traveling in all directions, they would visit children and grandchildren. Taking pictures was an important part of the gatherings. That developed into a love of scrapbooking. Joyce loved corresponding with family and friends especially sending and collecting Christmas newsletters. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren will remember her love for them as well as her rug-weaving, the many "Pony-Boy" rides and special treats "like monster cookies and peanut clusters". Music was an important part of Joyce's life. She gave piano lessons to most of her children and loved singing hymns (in harmony) at church and "Jesus Loves Me" with any children. Survivors include: her husband Vernon; children: Susan (Royce) Thompson, Ackworth, IA; Stephen (Roxanne) Siekmann, Green Bay, WI; Nancy (Gary) StClair, Indianapolis, IN; Thomas (Kerry) Siekmann, Carlsbad, CA; Peggy (Richard) Gustafson, Howards Grove, WI; Kathy (Michael) Hartenberger, Edgerton, WI; Timothy (Deborah) Siekmann, Shelby Township, MI; Mark (Lori) Siekmann, Irvine, CA. She was blessed with 21 grandchildren and 12 (soon to be 13) great-grandchildren. Joyce is further survived by sister and brother-in-law Merlette and Roger Dottei, Willis, TX and their two children David and Michael. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Elsie Mohs; parents-in-law Otto and Emma Siekmann, two brothers-in-law Gerald and Gerhard Siekmann, son-in-law Douglas Ford, and great-grandson Jack Natzke. Family and friends may visit Redeemer Lutheran Church, 210 S. Oneida St., Green Bay, on Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of funeral service at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev.
