Albert B. Mayernik, 93, Lena, died Thursday morning, October 11, 2012 at Shawano Medical Center. He was born March 31, 1919 in New Douglas, IL to John and Anna (Chalfa) Mayernik and moved with his family to the Spruce area as a young boy.
On October 25, 1947 he married Irene Bobik in Chicago, IL. Following their marriage the couple returned to the Spruce area where they owned and operated a family dairy farm. Albert enjoyed hunting, fishing and raising bees. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls, a 70 year member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Holy Name Society.
Survivors are his wife of 65 years, Irene Mayernik, Spruce; their two children, Irene (Steve) Drake, Gillett; Albert G. Mayernik, Lnea; five grandchildren and one great grandchild, Andrew (Jen) Drake and daughter, Eleanor; Briana and Cameron Drake; Paul and Dave Mayernik; one sister, Lydia (Dave) Patrick, IN; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Mayernik, Appleton; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, John, Steve, Joe and Paul Mayernik and three sisters, Anna Micoley, Mary Liptak and Elizabeth Mayernik.
Visitation will be held after 9:30 am Saturday, October 13, 2012 (TODAY) at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls until time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am Saturday at the church with the Rev. Fr. Robert Karuhn officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Spruce. Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls is serving the family.
