Alfred "Al" M. Minor, 90, Green Bay, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 21, 1923 in Flint, MI to Alfred and Josephine (Thyes) Minor.

Al graduated from Green Bay West High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army at the beginning of WWII and received a direct commission as a 2nd Lieutenant. He served in the European Theatre. On June 7, 1944, Al married his high school sweetheart, Dolores A. Gegere and enjoyed more than 69 years of marriage. Al was a 37 year veteran of the Green Bay Fire Department, retiring as Deputy Chief. He was active in the community for many years. Al was a 3rd and 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Beja Shriners. He also was a member of the American Legion and a proud member of the Retired Professional Firefighters of WI. In his younger days, Al enjoyed Harleys, cars and cameras.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores; three daughters and their husbands, Judy and Tom McGuire, Joyce Cieluch, Nancy and Richard Ferlazzo; six grandchildren and their spouses, Ron and Amy McGuire, Jenny and Tim Patterson, Tom and JeriAnne Cieluch, Kailey Cieluch, Mark and Danielle Van Gemert, Nicole Ferlazzo; six great-grandchildren, Kristen, Mason, Jacy, Teegan, Layla, Ethan; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Jim and June Minor, Pat Minor, Robert and Jan Minor; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Joan Mary; a grandson, Tim Cieluch; a sister, Betty Shaw; two brothers, Grant R. "Buzz" Minor, Clarence Minor; and two infant sisters.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The Funeral Service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Steve Fewell officiating. A Fireman Bell Service and Veterans Honors will follow. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park. To send online condolences, please go to
