Annabelle M. (Rankin) Jadin, 83, Sturgeon Bay, passed away on March 1, 2012, at the Skilled Nursing Facility at Ministry Door County Medical Center. She was born on April 13, 1928, in Brussels, to Mike and Elsie (Oldenburg) Stauber. Annabelle married Lawrence Rankin and together they owned and operated several taverns where she was known for her cooking. Lawrence preceded her in death in 1970. On Sept. 13, 1971, Annabelle married James Jadin and they farmed in the Cloverleaf area for many years; he preceded her in death on March 30, 2009.
Survivors include two sons, Larry (Bonnie) Rankin, Maplewood; Rick (Kathy) Rankin, Maplewood; four grandchildren, Brenda Rankin-Sweet, John Malcore, Riley and Kristin Rankin; two great-grandchildren, Cole and Peyton Sweet; three brothers, Bernard "Beanie" Stauber, Lawrence "Butch" Stauber, Sylvester (Arlene) Stauber; three sisters, Isabelle Peters, Dorothy (Bud) Walters, Donna (Jim) Reel; one stepson, Tom (Mary) Jadin, Shiocton, and their daughter, Claire (Mike Sacks) Jadin; one stepdaughter, Jeannette (Dan) Rass, Brussels, and their four children, Jesse, Jason, Allison, and Gwen. Annabelle was preceded in death by her two husbands; one daughter, Susan Malcore; three brothers, Leonard, Ralph, and Eugene; three sisters, Helen Vandertie, Grace Haack; and Angeline Cheadle.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2012, at Holy Name of Mary Church in Maplewood, with the Rev. Anthony Birdsall and Deacon Paul Zenefski officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Name of Mary Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Monday. Forbes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
