Bernice M. Adams, 86, Allouez resident, died early Friday morning, December 7, 2012, at a local hospital surrounded by her family. She was born February 1, 1926 in Green Bay to the late Frank and Alice (Stopka) Tamrack. Bernice attended Green Bay East High School graduating in 1944. She married John Adams on December 27, 1944 in New Orleans. They would have celebrated 68 years of marriage this month. Bernice was employed by the H.C. Prange Company for over twenty years. She and John enjoyed camping in Door County and traveling. Their favorite trips were visiting the children and grandchildren, who she deeply cherished. Bernice seldom turned down a game of cards and usually had some pennies in her purse for another game. She was fond of all the families pets and enjoyed spending time in the garden. Bernice was a member of St. Matthews Parish for over fifty years.
She is survived by her loving husband John and their five children: Dennis (Barb) Adams, Appleton; Jean (Jim) Sawyer, Oconomowoc; Dale (Tracy) Adams, De Pere; Jane (Carl) Grathen, De Pere and Joan (Lance) Crum, Omaha, NE; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great grandchildren "on the way"; four brothers-in-law: Wally (Lori) Adams, Campbellsport; Andy (Bronie) Brooks, Manitowoc; Bernard DuChateau, Green Bay and Nick Brooks, Two Rivers; three sisters-in-law: Bette Anderson, Green Bay; Janet Platt, San Diego, CA and Ruthie Kernan, Rock Island, IL; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Pauline DuChateau and Francis Peters; her brother, Norman Tamrack; four brothers-in-law: Pete Adams, Tom Adams, Robert Kendall and Bill Brooks; her sister-in-law, LuAnn Phillips.
Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., from 4-8 pm Monday. Parish wake service 7:30 pm Monday. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthews St., after 9:30 am until time of Mass. Funeral Mass 10:30 am Tuesday at the church with Rev.
