David M. Moegenburg, 64, Burlington, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012, at St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee. David was born on November 4, 1947, in Gillett, to the late Arthur and Frieda (nee Block) Moegenburg. He spent his early life and received his education in Gillett. David proudly served in the United States Army. Following his service in the Army, he graduated from the Police Academy in Madison.
On December 11, 1002, in Burlington, David was united in marriage to Jodine (nee Conrad) Lois. Following marriage they made their home in the Burlington and Lyons area.
David worked for over 30 years as a Police Officer
, serving with both the Gillett Police Department and the Burlington Police Department. He was a six year vet of the Burlington Township Police Department and a 17 year vet of the Burlington City Police Department, retiring in 1994.
Survivors include his wife, Jodine Moegenburg, children: Ethan (Sarah) Moegenburg, Green Bay; and Kyle Moegenburg, Burlington; step-children: Joelle Lois, Delavan; Jenilee (Scott) Peterson, Genoa City; and Jacob Lois, Wheatland; grandchildren: Lucas, Peyton, and Jacelyn; brothers: Lou (Julie) Moegenburg and Ron (Cindy) Moegenburg; and by his former wife and friend Jackie Moegenburg-Valley. David was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Eugene Moegenburg and a sister, Ruth Peterson.
Graveside Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Gillett. Rev. H. H. Jeffers officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
