McArthur, Delia "Dee" C.
Delia "Dee" C. McArthur, 77, Green Bay, died Thursday morning, May 29, 2014. She was born on May 1, 1937 in Green Bay to the late Leslie and Nora Matthews. Dee was a graduate of Green Bay West High School. On January 28, 1958 she married Maxwell McArthur at St. Paul Methodist church in Green Bay. She worked as a lawyer's assistant and x-ray technician but for most of her life she was a daycare provider. Dee enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved watching the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. Dee was involved in showing horses with her daughters and thoroughly enjoyed it. She created the T.R.U.S.T. Program (Therapeutic Riding Under Supervised Training) which allowed individuals with disabilities to horseback ride for therapeutic stimulation. Dee was awarded the Green Bay Volunteer of the Year for her efforts with this program.
She is survived by her children, Craig McArthur, St. Petersburg, FL; Lori (Karen Filppula) McArthur, Green Bay; Amy (Robert) Thompson, Pulaski; Maureen (Scott Hertwig) McArthur, Gillett; grandchildren, Andrew Thompson, Noah Filppula-McArthur, Miranda Ness, Taylor Thompson, Joshua Filppula-McArthur; spouse, Maxwell McArthur, St. Petersburg, FL; sister, Bonnie (Lee) Tesch, Green Bay; and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael McArthur.
