Dolores Flok(1925 - 2012)

Flok, Dolores D. Dolores D. Flok, 86, Little Harbor, Sturgeon Bay, entered her eternal home on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at the Skilled Nursing Facility of Ministry Door County Medical Center. She was born Dolores Dorothy Gray on Oct. 29, 1925, in Fish Creek, the daughter of John and Lucieo (Kaczmarek) Gray. Dolores attended Persing Grade School for eight years and went on to graduate from Gibraltar High School. On Feb. 9, 1946, she married Urban "Bud" Flok, the love of her life! They were married at the chapel on Naval Base in San Pedro, Calif. Dolores and Bud owned and operated Bud's Speed Wash in Sturgeon Bay on Jefferson Street, next to Door County Hardware, for 15 years. The couple enjoyed many years of traveling together. Bud preceded her in death on March 3, 2002, after 56 loving years together. Dolores was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sevastopol Homemakers, Red Hatters, Door County Historical Society, American Legion Auxiliary, Widow and Widowers Club, and the Door County Maritime Museum. Survivors include her three daughters, Audrey (Gerald) Gilson, Green Bay; Joyce (Gary) Haen, Beverly (Bud) Schopf, both of Sturgeon Bay; six grandchildren, Steven (Stacy) Haen, West Jacksonport; Stacie (Theo) Darden, Naperville, Ill.; Heath (Nicole) Schopf, Appleton; Jennifer Gilson, Green Bay; Matthew (Alicia) Schopf, Waupaca; Kelly (Jeff) Walenski, Green Bay; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold (Ruth) Gray and one sister, Geraldine (David) Niedzwiecki, both of Baileys Harbor; two sisters-in-law, Irene Vertz, Sturgeon Bay; Carol Gray, Sister Bay; and one brother-in-law, Francis (Bea) Ehlers, Sturgeon Bay. Preceding her in death were her parents, John and Lucieo Gray; husband, Bud Flok; two sisters, Irene Elkins, Evelyn Ehlers; one brother, Edward Gray; and one brother-in-law, Roland Flok. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3 p.m. on Monday, May 7, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Konkol OFM officiating. Burial will be held at Bayside Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday evening, May 6, 2012, at Huehns Funeral Home and at the church on Monday afternoon from 1 until the time of services at 3 p.m. A parish wake will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday evening at Huehns Funeral Home. Memorials may be given in Dolores's memory to the Door County Sunshine House or to Crossroads at Big Creek. The family will also be donating money to various organizations of Dolores' interests in her memory. Dolores' smiling face and cheerful disposition will be dearly missed by family and friends.
