Born in the Town of Coleman, Wisconsin on Christmas Day, 1931, following the birth of his twin brother, Harold.

Deacon Earl Charlier, 81, Green Bay resident, died peacefully Sunday, January 6, 2013 at his home surrounded by family.
Earl was one of 13 children born to the late Camille and Irene (Belongia) Charlier on a farm near Coleman. Their family moved to Milwaukee in May of 1942. He joined the U.S. Navy
in 1952 and served his country for 4 years stationed at Naval Air Stations on the East Coast, attaining the rank of First Class Petty Officer. He married the former Lois Voltz on December 26, 1953 and raised 5 children (Jeanne, Jim, Brian, Christine, and Dean) in the Green Bay area. She preceded him in death on March 29, 2004. He worked in various industries until 1971 including writing a weekly column for The Register (local Catholic newspaper), employed at Fort Howard Paper Mill, and as a sales agent in the insurance business until 1978. On February 28, 1976, he was ordained to permanent Diaconate by the late Bishop Wycislo and began working for the Diocese and Catholic hospitals in Wisconsin and Illinois as Hospital Chaplain and Director. His "retirement" began in December 1996 and he continued to serve as Deacon at St. Mary of the Angels, St Mary's Catholic Community in Ledgeview as well as St. Vincent and Bellin Hospitals. He was currently an active member of Prince of Peace Catholic Community.
His many interests included family reunions, cooking (including numerous legendary specialties), woodcarving, violin making, deer hunting & fishing, quilting, writing, story telling, genealogy and travel.
He is survived by his five children: Jeanne Lebish, California; Jim, Seattle; Brian (Tammy), Little Suamico; Christine (Carl) Gustke, New Jersey and Dean (Sue), Greenville, WI; 11 grandchildren including: Melissa Lebish, Benjamin Lebish, Darshan Dorsey, Tarrajna (Nick) Walsh, Camille Charlier, Meghan (Dean) Weycker, Aubrey Charlier, Keegan Charlier, Mallory Charlier, Chloe and Abby Gustke; two great granddaughters: Raquel and Ava Lebish; brothers include his twin brother; Harold (Cathy), Waukesha; Donald (Sheri), Wind Lake; Camille Jr (Janet), Waukesha; sisters include: Marie Kloss, Two Rivers; Carol (Bill) Heinen, Lily, WI; and Rosalie (Bob) Korman, Iola, WI along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by siblings: Bernice (Shallow), Cecile (Platek), Adeline (Beck), Norma (Beck), Roger, and Henry.
Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. from 4:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday. Parish wake service 7:30 pm Thursday. Visitation will continue on Friday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 3425 Willow Rd., after 9:30 am until time of Mass. Funeral Mass 11:00 am Friday at the church with Bishop Robert Morneau officiating, Rev. Dan Viertel concelebrating, Rev. Ron Belitz concelebrating and homilist.
