Eunice Moericke(1916 - 2014)

Eunice I. Moericke

Eunice Ida Moericke, age 97 formerly of Bonduel, died on Friday, April 25, 2014 in DePere. Born on September 14, 1916 in Hortonville, she is the daughter of the late Walter and Elvira (Baars) Bleick. When she was very young, Eunice and her family relocated to the Bonduel area where her father opened Bleick's Creamery which produced cheese, ice cream and butter. On September 14, 1938, Eunice was united in marriage to Elmer E. Moericke who preceded her in death on February 16, 1991. After they were married, the couple worked with her father at the creamery, taking over the business in 1951 until their retirement in 1979. Eunice was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, attending Bible Study, doing puzzles, playing games - including cards and Bingo, and she loved dogs and birds.

Eunice is survived by: her daughter, Judy (Randy) Tank of Gillett; her son, Daniel (Susan) Moericke of DePere; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Moericke of Bonduel; 2 sisters-in-law, Marge Bleick of Cecil and Marie Moericke of Crandon. She is further survived by 7 grandchildren, Bobby Jo (Rick) Lade, Rick (Jodene) Moericke, Holly (Rory Schubert) Krueger, Eric Styczynski, Wendy (Greg) Staley, Kevin (Renee) Moericke and Sarah (Gary Rabe) Moericke; 22 great-grandchildren; and 3 great great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by: her husband, Elmer; her parents; 2 sons, Wayne and Norman; a daughter, Diana; and 2 brothers, Carl and Robert.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 28, 2014 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with the Rev. Timothy Shoup officiating. Visitation will be on Monday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
