Heim, Evelyn M. (McKeefry)

Evelyn M. Heim, 89, Green Bay, passed away at home on Monday, November 5, 2012. She was born August 15, 1923 to the late Peter and Bertha (Nearing) McKeefry in Green Valley, WI. On July 19, 1947, she married the late Elmer G. Heim. She had been employed by Diana Manufacturing and later for Schreiber Cheese. In her mid-seventies, she earned her GED.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and was instrumental in starting the prayer group, helped as a Sunday morning greeter and poured coffee after the 8 a.m. service for over 40 years. She was also on the Altar Guild and for a short time, was a Rock Room sponsor and member of the choir.

Evie was known to have very kind and loving heart, along with a great sense of humor and an infectious smile. She was always willing to help anyone. She had a strong faith and loved her family most of all.

Survivors include her children, Sandra (John) Hollrith, Randal (Cynthia) Heim, Wayne (Diane) Heim, Crystal Heim-Duaime; grandchildren, Nathan and Grant Heim, Ashley Hollrith, Alexander and Nicholas Duaime and Lillian Heim; two great-grandchildren; sister -in-law, Dorothy Nys; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; sisters, Adelaide (Art) Pagenhoff, Nina (Lester) Gettlinger, Lucille (Austin) Rusch; brothers, Herbert, Leonard (Alice), Lou (Beatrice) and Victor; parents-in-law, Peter and Lillian Heim; sister-in-law, Lucille (Art) Nooyen; brother-in-law, Robert Nys; nephew, Gary Nooyen and good friend, Milton Collins.

Friends and family may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday, November 9 at Grace Lutheran Church, 321 S. Madison St. Funeral service at 7 p.m. with Rev. Larry Lange officiating. Burial at Nicolet Memorial Garden.

The family would like to thank her care givers, Maria del Carmen Flores and Juan Arcos for their exceptional care; special thanks to Lacey Kuehl from Southern Care Hospice.
