Boehm, Francis L. "Cy"
Francis L. "Cy" Boehm, 80, Suamico, died Monday June 17, 2013, following a brief illness. He was born February 10, 1933, in Green Bay, to Frank and Mary (Danielski) Boehm.
Cy was a graduate of Green Bay West High School, Class of 1951. He served in the U.S. Navy
on the U.S.S. Princeton, during the Korean Conflict
. Following the war, on Sept. 25, 1954, Cy married Patricia Calewarts at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Howard. For 37 years, Cy worked for Wisconsin Public Service in the Gas Dept., and retired as a Gas Street Supervisor in 1995. He loved the outdoors and spending time at the family cottage in Wabeno. Cy enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, campfires, gardening, watching the Packers, and building. With the help of friends and family, he built his own home and cottage.
Cy had given nicknames to all of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed family gatherings. Family was very important to him and he'll be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
Cy is survived by his wife, Patricia; his children and their spouses, Robert and Cindy Boehm, Oconto; Ken and Susan Boehm, Eden Prairie, MN; Gerald and Lisa Boehm, Tempe, AZ; Michael and Teresa Boehm, Chandler, AZ; Sue and Michael Schilawski, Suamico; Steve and Melody Boehm, Little Suamico; eleven grandchildren, Eric, Melissa, Bobbie Jo, Katie, Riley, Hunter, Brianna, Jessica, Aaron Boehm, Ashley and Adam Schilawski; two great-granddaughters, Paige, Maddelyn; a special cousin, Tom (Dorothy) Boehm, Green Bay; a special Godson, Scott Wallenfang, Sobieski; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gene and Judy Wallenfang, Suamico; Roger and Karen Calewarts, Amberg; Pam Hedtke, Oconto Falls; Dean and Sue Calewarts, Oconto; Chris and Terry Brabant, Oconto; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Laverne Roughsedge; and a grandson, Jordan Boehm.
Friends may call at SS. Edward & Isidore Catholic Church, 3667 Flintville Rd., Flintville, from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Friends may also from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with Rev. David J. Hoffman officiating.
