Helen Walla, 92, former Pulaski resident, died Saturday evening, December 1, 2012, at a Green Bay nursing home. The daughter of Carl and Pearl (Kaszynski) Trojan was born February 17, 1920, in Krakow. She married Bernard Walla. The couple farmed in the Town of Chase. He preceded her in death in 1975. Our precious deer hunter is gone to join Bernard, her brothers, and her son-in-law, Jim, hunting in heaven.
Helen is survived by one son, Norbert (Sharon) Walla, Ashland; one daughter, Laurie Pienta, Suamico; seven grandchildren, Jackie (Brian) Budz, Norbert (Michelle) Walla, Jr., Cheryl (Dan) Laskowski, Robert Walla, Doug (Cindy) Walla, Craig Pienta, Jason (Cori) Pienta; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Frances Trojan, Milwaukee, Clara Trojan, Pulaski; nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to her husband, Bernard, Helen was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jim Pienta, two grandchildren, Rick Pienta and Julie Pienta Murray; and three brothers, Ed, Leo, and Julius (Terry) Trojan.
Friends may call at Assumption B.V.M. Church, 124 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski, at 10:00 a.m. Thursday. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church, Fr. Brendan Wroblewski, O.F.M. presiding, with burial in the parish cemetery. Marnocha Funeral Home, Pulaski is serving the Walla family.
