Isabel Schauer, 96, Green Bay, died Sunday morning, November 18, 2012 at a local nursing home. She was born in Bellevue on April 16, 1916 to the late John and Nettie (Woitula) Kroll. Isabel married Richard (Dick) Schauer on June 1, 1935 and he preceded her in death January 4, 1972. In 1945 Isabel and Dick purchased Kroll's East in Green Bay from her brother Harry Kroll and it is still run by her family today. Isabel had an adventurous spirit. She loved her cottage (Breezy Acres), boating, playing cards, traveling, cooking and special times with her family. Isabel and Dick were charter members of St. Philip the Apostle Parish.
Survivors include her two daughters: Jill Mande and Mary Valitchka; one son: James (Bette) Schauer; grandchildren: Ben (Pam) Schauer, Jenny (Dan) Smith, Nathan (Heidi) Schauer, Aaron Schauer, David (Lisa) Schauer, Heidi (John) Zalewski, Nick Schauer, Annie (Michael) Ratterman, Matt Schauer, Robin (Abdulah Al-belushi) Mande, Meredith Mande and special friend Thomas Jackson, Rick (Tara) Mande, Teri Valitchka, Alexi Valitchka; numerous great grandchildren; one sister: Esther (Jerry) Sobiek.
She was preceded in death by her husband - Richard, one son: John (Jack) Schauer; son-in-law: Richard Mande, son-in-law: Terry Valitchka; brothers: Austin, Harry, Ben, Nick, John and Ray Kroll; sisters: Rose Glawe and Helen Vanden Heuvel.
Friends may call at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 312 Victoria Street, from 9:30 A.M. Monday until the time of the funeral. Mass of Christian burial Monday 11:00 A.M. at St. Philip the Apostle Church. Entombment in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
