Crabb, John B.
John B. Crabb, age 67, a former Manitowoc resident, died Monday afternoon, December 30, 2013 in Tucson, AZ., after a 2 year battle with cancer.
John was born on November 11, 1946 in Green Bay, WI., son of the late Bernard and Margaret (Edwards) Crabb. He graduated from Premontre High School in Green Bay with the class of 1965. He served in the Army
from 1966 until 1968 which included a tour in Vietnam with the 56th Army Postal Unit from 1967 until 1968. In 1969 John graduated from The Brown Institute of Radio Technology in Minneapolis, MN. Following school he was the news director, known as "John Collins", at WOMT before joining the Manitowoc City Police Department in 1977 where he served as a patrol officer for 23 years, twice earning to honor of police officer
of the year. After retiring from the police force, John provided security services for the Manitowoc YMCA, Rhar West Museum and Holy Family Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years: Barb "Bobbie" Crabb; his children: Jason (Gretchen) Crabb, Verona, WI., and Michelle Crabb, Tucson, AZ.; three grandchildren: Emerson, Elliot and Emmett; one sister: Jean (Ron) Manteufel, Appleton, WI.; and two sisters-in-law: Janet Young, Ciobolo, TX., and Irene (Steve) LaPolice, Carlsbad, CA. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, January 6, 2014 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The visitation will continue on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
