Marie Timmerman, 92, Green Bay, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013, surrounded by her family. She was born August 5, 1920 in Shelbyville, TN to the late Charles A. and Isabel (Locke) Molder.
In 1938, Marie graduated from Community High School, Unionville, TN, where she played basketball and was a State Champion. Sports continued to be a passion of Marie's throughout her entire life. Marie then attended Draughn's Business College in Nashville, TN. She was working at the U.S. Army Classification Center when she met Robert J. Timmerman. On March 16, 1946, they were married at St. Patrick Catholic Church and had celebrated 55 years of marriage before Robert passed away on November 18, 2001. Marie enjoyed sewing, gardening, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Marie is survived by three children, Marilyn (Eldon) Raisanen, Green Bay; Cynthia (Tim) Johnson, Green Bay; Jefferey (Roxie) Timmerman, Fairmont, MN; eight grandchildren, Paul Raisanen, Milwaukee; Beth (David) Wilson, Louisville, KY; Katie (Duffey) Ainsworth, Charlotte, TN; Davis and Brianna Johnson, Green Bay; Samantha, Morgan, and Benjamin Timmerman, Fairmont, MN; four great-grandchildren, Andrew, Annabelle, Nikolas, and Maelee; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents; three sisters, Maude Crowell, Catherine Cartwright, Eula Scales; and a brother, Charlie Molder.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friends may also call at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1420 Division St., from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with Rev. Donald Everts officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
