Mildred J. Knack, 89, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2014 in her home. Mildred was born on November 28, 1924 to Walter and Olive Kushman in Marinette, WI. Mildred graduated from Marinette High School in 1942. She then moved to Chicago where she got a job at the Chicago Tribune. Mildred was United in Marriage to Lester Knack on July 24, 1950. She continued her education later in life by attending U.W.G.B. graduating Summa Com Laude. Mildred had a huge love for all animals and got much joy feeding and watching all the wildlife that visited her backyard. She and Lester raised champion Bull Mastiffs, showing their dogs throughout the county.

Mildred is survived by her sister Marilyn Long, Marinette, WI; sister-in-law, June Chmurski, Waupaca, WI; niece April and Mike Moran, Green Bay; nephew, Jeff Kirchner and fiance' Sarah, and his children Jessica and Jacob, Shawano, WI; nephew Mitchell Long, Menominee, MI; special friends Gary and Pamela Bassett.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Lester; parents, Walter and Olive Kushman; beloved sister, Maxine Kirchner; brother-in-laws Jerome Kirchner and Morris Long; niece, Dr. Marci Long and numerous friends.
