Paul McDermid

McDermid, Paul

Paul McDermid, 63, of Green Bay, went to his heavenly home Thursday, March 20, 2014. He was born March 3, 1951, in Oconto to Francis and Doris (Exferd) McDermid. Paul graduated in 1969 from Oconto Falls High School. He served his country as a Seabee with the U.S. Navy. On October 18, 1991, he married Shelley (Schuelke) Koch.

Paul was employed as a stonecutter artisan for the past 20 years, creating the entrance arch at the Green Bay Botanical Garden as his first job. His family, friends, faith and love of God were extremely important to him, and he and his wife Shelley served as team lectors at St. Bernard Parish. Paul loved the Packers, watching "Survivor," and his newly acquired Harley. He also loved the spontaneous road trips with his wife, but especially their yearly trip to the National Eagle Center in Wabasha. People will say Paul had a kind heart, a great sense of humor, and a beautiful smile that radiated the joy he felt.
