Pearl Vanden Langenberg, 92, of Kelly Lake, Suring, WI, formerly of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at Woodland Village Nursing Home in Suring. Pearl was born September 3, 1920 in Green Bay to the late Frank and Antoinette (Dennisen) Parins, and graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1937. Pearl married Harvey Vanden Langenberg on September 28, 1940, and enjoyed over 62 years of marriage until Harvey passed away in 2003. Pearl worked as a bookkeeper at Kelly Photo in Green Bay after raising her family. Pearl was a long-time member and also served as President of the Bellevue VFW
9677 Ladies' Auxiliary. After retiring in 1982 to the home she and Harvey built at Kelly Lake, Pearl was an active member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Klondike and its Altar Rosary Society, and volunteered at Community Memorial Hospital in Oconto Falls. The happiest times of Pearl's life were the years she spent at Kelly Lake enjoying her family, especially her 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards, singing in the St. Wenceslaus choir, participating in church activities, assisting with bookkeeping at St. Wenceslaus, and traveling with her family and friends.
Pearl is survived by her children, Judy (Michael) Strebel, Kelly Lake; David (Linda) Van, Coleman; Joan (Robert) Patterson, Kelly Lake; and Ellen (Gary) Rentmeester, Green Bay; and by her 9 grandchildren; Susan (Robb) Hepp, Steven (Carrie) Strebel, Michele (David) Spangenberg, Mark Strebel, Lisa (Steve) Arendt, Ryan Patterson, Jed (Sara) Vanden Langenberg, Kyle (Cheryl) Rentmeester, and Katie (Kris Kuhn) Rentmeester; 14 great-grandchildren. Survivors also include her brothers Robert (Beth) Parins and Lloyd Parins; her sisters; Annette (Shelby Guilette) Watkins, Pauline (Bucky) McAbee, Cece (Pat) Blaser, and Mary (Joe) Brusky; her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Arnie and Bernice Rentmeester, Raphael and Ida Vanden Langenberg, Ron and Jeanne Vanden Langenberg, Eloise VanderKelen, Betty Vanden Langenberg, Barb Vanden Langenberg, and Lorraine Vanden Langenberg; and many nieces and nephews. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother, Gertrude Parins; her siblings; Irvin Parins, Betty (Marv) Stone, Peter Parins, and Kathy Ashbaugh; and her sisters-and brothers-in-law, Howard and Jan Vanden Langenberg, Ray and Rosella Lamal, Lorraine and Orland Nick; Lloyd, Marvin, and Ken Vanden Langenberg; and Audrey Parins.
Family and friends may call at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Suring, WI, on Sunday, July 28 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. followed by a Memorial Mass with Rev. Dean Dombroski officiating. Pearl's family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the management and staff of Woodland Village Nursing Home, Suring, WI, for the loving care and compassion which they showed to Pearl.
