Randall M. Tielens, 55, Bellevue resident, died unexpectedly Monday, July 1, 2013, at his home. He was born February 4, 1958 in Green Bay to Shirley (Deffke) Tielens and the late Wallace Tielens. Randy graduated from Luxemburg-Casco High School in 1976. He married the former Anne McKenna on May 12, 1990 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Pine Grove. Following high school, Randy joined the family business, WEL Companies, formerly Wisconsin Express Lines. He began his career driving the company dump truck, moved on to semi's and eventually became executive vice-president of the company. Randy was directly involved in building customer relationships. He had a gift as a "people person" and directed that gift to not only business relationships, but to family, friends and neighbors. Through the business, Randy was involved in many trucking and warehousing associations, including, ATA, TCA, WMCA, NCLC, WWA and IWC. Randy was very involved in his family's activities. He especially enjoyed working with the Preble-East High School Wrestling Club and recently studying the bible with family and friends. In 2011 he and his brother Bruce were asked to give the commencement speech at Luxemburg-Casco High School. Randy traveled extensively, many times for the business and was fortunate enough to be able to bring his family with him. Together they traveled to many places and turned business into pleasure. He and his family are members of Prince of Peace Catholic Community.
He is survived by his wife Anne and their three children, Emily, Spencer and Mackenzie, all at home; his mother, Shirley Tielens; six sisters: Nancy Roberts; Roxy (Bob) Michiels; Annette (Tod) Simonar; Sherry Van Pay; Missy (Cliff) Shreiner and Jenny (Wade) Sicklinger; he is also survived by four brothers: Darel (Lynn); Bruce (Kathy); Dale (Cindy) and Mark (Maria) Tielens; two brothers-in-law: Stephen Metzler and Mike Homan; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joanne and Chuck Berry; three sisters-in-law: Mary (Jim) Stallard; Patty McKenna and Susan McKenna; two brothers-in-law: Kevin McKenna and Dan (Theresa) McKenna; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph; three sisters, Julie Metzler, Bonnie Homan and Mary Ann Tielens; his father-in-law, Ken McKenna
Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. on Sunday, July 7, 2013, from 3:00 - 8:00 pm. Parish wake service 8:00 pm Sunday. Visitation will continue on Monday, at Prince of Peace Catholic Community, 3425 Willow Rd., after 9:30 am until time of mass. Funeral mass 11:00 am Monday at the church with Rev.
