Krauss, Rita T.
Rita T. Krauss, age 92, of Kewaunee died Tuesday March 19, 2013 surrounded by loved ones at Paradise Estates Assisted Living. She was born at Institute, WI on December 21, 1920 to the late Charles and Ella (Larson) Peronto.
She graduated from Sevastopol High School in 1939. She married Robert D. Krauss on January 13, 1940 and he preceded her in death August 11, 1999.
Rita was primarily a mother and home maker, but was also a business woman, owning and maintaining many apartments and rental units. She was a member of Community Congregational Church, the Jolly Couples and the women's sewing group. She and Robert were very involved in Republican politics, going to several Presidential inaugurations and they were charter members of Peninsula Players in 1939, attending all of the seasonal plays until 2010. Above everything else, Rita loved and cared for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and always put them before her own needs.
Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law: Bonnie J. and Thomas Schuller, Kewaunee; Penny and Thomas Harenburg, Oshkosh; Candy and Roy Malvitz, Kewaunee; Patti and Michael Rice Waukesha; seven grandchildren: Darin (Janel) Jeanquart; Roberta Jeanquart and special friend, Jorge Lopez; Becki (Rick) Watson; Scot (Michelle) Harenburg; Melanie (Brian) Paral; Erica (Ryan) Wagenhauser; Emily (James) Gunter; fourteen great grandchildren: Brayden Jeanquart; Tommy Palmer; Bailey (Todd) Bynum; Billy, Ashley, Hayley Watson; Romey Harenberg; Clayton (Mary) Paral; Brittany, Jacoby, Brienna Paral; Lilyann; Ellison; Myla Gunter; an aunt: Margaret Moegenburg, Sister Bay, WI; a sister-in-law: Joanne Peronto, CA and her beloved dog, Chopper
She was preceded in death by a son: Ronald R. Krauss; one granddaughter: Chastity Shaw; three brothers: Maurice Peronteau; Vernon Peronteau and Robert Peronto.
Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 23 at Community Congregational Church, 502 Center Street, Kewaunee. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. With Rev. Randy Kohls Officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
