Robert D. "Bob" Ohlhues, 72, Green Bay, passed away surrounded by his loving family April 10, 2014. He was born March 15, 1942, to Donald and Christine (Eveld) Ohlhues in Manitowoc. Bob graduated from Lincoln High School in Manitowoc, Class of 1960, and later graduated from the University of Wisconsin
Madison. On June 27, 1964, he married Joyce Novak. The couple would have celebrated 50 years of marriage in June. Together they had 3 wonderful children and were blessed with 9 grandchildren.
Bob was in the banking business for over 35 years. He was affiliated with Associated Banc Corp. for many years, retiring from the industry in 2001.
Bob enjoyed many annual family trips, including summer vacations to Lake Lucerne for over 30 years, and, more recently, The "Falcon" Crest (named in his honor). He started the tradition of fishing in Canada, which his sons and grandsons continue. He also looked forward to winter trips to Florida with his wife. Bob enjoyed coaching Little League and attending his kids' and grandkids' activities. He was an avid reader, great storyteller, and enjoyed golf (especially the Green Bay/Manitowoc Open). He was a strong advocate for his wife during her ongoing battle with leukemia.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; three children and their spouses, Dean and Rhonda Ohlhues, Eagan, MN; Wendy and Dan Hnilicka, De Pere; Greg and Suzi Ohlhues, Farmington, MN; 8 grandchildren, Jake, Erik, and Kurt Ohlhues; Jolie and Kenzie Hnilicka; Kailey, Autumn,, and Tabitha Ohlhues; two sisters and their spouses, Bette and Lou Close, Mary Ann and Bill Duebner; two sisters-in-law and their spouses, Jeanette and Bob Bentley, Judy and Dennis Kellenbenz; along with many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Craig Dean Ohlhues; his parents; and Joyce's parents, Lawrence and Rosemary Novak.
Visitation will be at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Lane, Green Bay, from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church with Rev.
